    • Doris Daniels was valedictorian of her Parker High School, February 1938 class. She followed with a semester at Northwestern University, then attended the University of Chicago. She did not complete her final semester until after her marriage. She was married on August 16, 1941. She and her husband, Robert (Bob) Kaiser and moved to San Antonio, Texas where they took Civil Service jobs. Doris worked in the Censorship Office translating French mail. When World War II broke out, Bob joined the U.S. Navy. Doris went back home to Chicago, Illinois and lived with her parents. Meantime, their first son, Kenneth, was born in 1943. Doris completed her final semester after their son was born. In 1944 she received her Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of Chicago.
