      HENRY WALTER KAISER
      Henry Walter Kaiser. son of Henry E. and Rosa Schollhammer Kaiser, was born February 14, 1908 at Iowa. He passed away at the Veteran's Hospital in Minneapolis, February 18 1973, at the age of 65. He was a lifetime resident of Sutherland, from high school here in 1926. Following graduation he went to California where he worked as a mechanic for six years. Upon returning to Sutherland he became an employee or the Sutherland Creamery, where he was employed until 1949. He served for years in the armed forces during this time.
      He was united in marriage to Opal Haye at LeMars, Iowa. on February 14, 1938. To this union was born one son, Joe Patrick. who met a tragic death in an airplane accident in Colorado on May 8. 1972.
      Heinie, as he was known, owned and operated his own hardware store in Sutherland for many years. In August Of 1961 he sold the store, and he and Opal operated drive-in restaurants in Marshalltowwn, Ia. and Oregon, Illinois, until ill health forced his retirement in 1971.
      He was a member Of the American Legion, Abiff Lodge AF & AM where he was Post Master, Sioux City Consistory and the United Methodist Church at Sutherland.
      Abiff Lodge No. 347 or Sutherland conducted Masonic rites with the message given by Reverend Ivan Maxson of Royal Alfred Jensen is Worshipful Master.
      Preceding him in death besides his son were his parents, one brother and one halt-sister.
      Left to cherish his memory are his wife; two half-brothers, Lewis Kaiser of Austin, and Harry Kaiser of Sutherland and many other friends and relatives
